\u6642\u9694\u4e00\u5e74\uff0c\u76f4\u64b2\u5357\u90e8\u7684\u4e39\u5a1c\u7d72\u98b1\u98a8\u91cd\u65b0\u559a\u8d77\u4e86\u9019\u6bb5\u56de\u61b6\u3002\u6211\u610f\u8b58\u5230\uff0c\u8eab\u9ad4\u8a18\u61b6\u8207\u5fc3\u7406\u7684\u9707\u52d5\uff0c\u539f\u4f86\u4e26\u672a\u96a8\u8457\u7576\u6642\u51f1\u7c73\u6df9\u8d77\u7684\u6c34\u9000\u53bb\u3002\u958b\u59cb\u95dc\u6ce8\u9ebb\u8c46\u67da\u8fb2\u7684\u8655\u5883\u5f8c\uff0c\u4e5f\u7406\u89e3\u5230\u8fb2\u696d\u707d\u5bb3\u4e0d\u55ae\u53ea\u95dc\u4e4e\u7522\u91cf\u8207\u7d93\u6fdf\u640d\u5931\uff0c\u4ea6\u662f\u4e00\u5915\u4e4b\u9593\uff0c\u6574\u5b63\u8f9b\u52de\u88ab\u6467\u6bc0\u7684\u632b\u6557\u8207\u7121\u529b\u611f\u3002\u770b\u898b\u7db2\u8def\u4e0a\u5927\u91cf\u8f49\u767c\u7684\u843d\u5730\u6587\u65e6\u6d88\u606f\uff0c\u9019\u6b21\u6211\u60f3\u4e3b\u52d5\u53c3\u8207\uff0c\u89aa\u8eab\u4ee5\u81ea\u5df1\u7684\u65b9\u5f0f\u56de\u61c9\u98a8\u707d\u3002\u4e0d\u60f3\u505c\u6b65\u65bc\u5c0d\u300c\u82e6\u96e3\u300d\u7684\u9ad4\u611f\uff0c\u800c\u662f\u8a66\u8457\u5f9e\u81ea\u7136\u5e36\u4f86\u7684\u300c\u82e6\u96e3\u300d\u4e2d\uff0c\u627e\u51fa\u8f49\u5316\u6210\u300c\u751f\u6a5f\u300d\u7684\u53ef\u80fd\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u90a3\u4e9b\u5728\u98a8\u707d\u4e2d\u843d\u5730\u7684\u6587\u65e6\uff0c\u9846\u9846\u5fc3\u8840\u7686\u88ab\u8fc5\u901f\u52d5\u54e1\u88dd\u888b\u3001\u8f09\u5f80\u63a9\u57cb\u5834\uff0c\u5728\u6d41\u7a0b\u88e1\u4e00\u76f4\u88ab\u5b9a\u7fa9\u70ba\u7121\u7528\u7684\u300c\u8fb2\u5ee2\u300d\uff0c\u4f46\u5982\u679c\u9019\u4e9b\u843d\u679c\u7684\u751f\u547d\u9084\u6c92\u7d50\u675f\u5462\uff1f\u770b\u898bThreads\u6709\u4eba\u5206\u4eab\u843d\u679c\uff0c\u6211\u7acb\u523b\u62ff\u4e86\u5169\u5927\u888b\u56de\u5de5\u4f5c\u5ba4\uff0c\u9032\u884c\u67da\u76ae\u518d\u751f\u7d19\u7684\u88fd\u4f5c\u5be6\u9a57\uff0c\u6c92\u60f3\u5230\u8a66\u4f5c\u6210\u679c\u5728\u7db2\u8def\u4e0a\u5f15\u8d77\u5ee3\u5927\u95dc\u6ce8\u8207\u8ff4\u97ff\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the super typhoon Gaemi struck last year, I was living in Meinong, Kaohsiung. Overnight, the whole town sank into mud. The entire ground floor of my home was flooded, three colleagues\u2019 scooters were submerged, and equipment worth hundreds of thousands in our office was destroyed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next morning, when I stepped outside, the familiar streets and fields were buried under a layer of murky silt, scattered branches and rubbish, with the air thick with the smell of wet soil and decay.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u274f A Shock Education<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For someone who grew up in Hong Kong, it was a completely unprepared\u2011for situation. It was the first time I had experienced a natural disaster so real and so close to my own life.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hong Kong, of course, is no stranger to typhoons, but usually you just have to shut the windows, stock up on instant noodles, and then hide inside the city\u2019s concrete shelter.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You turn on the television and see footage of landslides and flooded villages on screen, but those always feel like stories happening at a distance.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When a disaster actually seeps into every crevice of your own life, and you are the one fishing out books and documents that have dissolved into pulp, that is when you truly feel the weight of \u201cnature\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is no longer an abstract figure in a disaster report, but a first\u2011hand, tangible reality that you see, touch and have to bear.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u274f Typhoon Memories Flooding Back<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The days after the storm were a slow process of picking life back up from the mud. During that time, I often thought about how Hong Kong society responds to disasters.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are very good at solving problems quickly: mobilising resources, clearing up, restoring order \u2013 but behind all that efficiency, people\u2019s emotions are often overlooked.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was the same. At the beginning, all I wanted was to minimise the loss and move on. I never really gave myself space to say, \u201cThat truly terrified me.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A year later, Typhoon Danas headed straight for southern Taiwan and brought all those memories back. I realised that the sensations in my body and the shock in my mind had never really ebbed away.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u274f Redefining \u201cAgricultural Waste\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As I began paying attention to the situation of pomelo farmers in Madou, I came to understand that agricultural disasters are not only about financial loss. They also embody the sense of powerlessness, when an entire season of labour is wiped out overnight.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seeing social media filled with images of fallen pomelos, this time I wanted to respond to the typhoon in my own way. I did not want to remain only with the bodily memory of \u201csuffering\u201d, but tried to find a way to transform it into actions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those pomelos were knocked to the ground by the storm. All of them were being swiftly bagged up and carted off to landfill, defined as \u201cagricultural waste\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But what if the life of these fallen fruits had not yet come to an end?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u274f The Story of Pomelo Handmade Paper<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When I saw someone share information about fallen pomelos on Threads, I immediately brought two large bags back to Namo Collective and started experimenting with making recycled pomelo handmade paper. To my surprise, the test pieces drew wide attention online.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together with partners at Namo, we launched the \u201cTainan Fallen Pomelo Regeneration Project\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We put up a post on Threads calling for volunteers, and within just one day, more than sixty people from across Tainan, Kaohsiung and Pingtung had come forward to join the papermaking team.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day, the area outside our studio was transformed into a temporary \u201cPomelo Regeneration Workshop\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From collecting fruit in Madou, washing the mud off the pomelos, peeling the skins, separating pith and flesh, mixing the peels with waste paper, hand\u2011making sheets and drying them, we built a complete production line.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u274f Recovering from Disaster Together<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Over three days of volunteer action, friends lent us papermaking tools, someone made a special trip from Anping to treat everyone to tofu pudding, public offices helped collect waste paper, and journalists came to report on what was happening. Everyone took on a different role.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From fruit to paper, from falling to transformation, we experienced how a community rescues itself. We learnt how to deploy people, materials and social networks, and how to find resilience after a disaster.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cTainan Fallen Pomelo Regeneration Project\u201d, in cooperation with local pomelo farmers in Madou, after countless rounds of testing and adjusting ratios, eventually developed three regenerated products for charitable purchase: pomelo handmade paper, pomelo\u2011peel extract, and pomelo enzyme. Fifty per cent of the income from sales is donated to the government\u2019s online donation platform.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u274f Transforming Wounded Emotions into Purpose<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The project redefines \u201cagricultural waste\u201d. At the same time, it responds to the emotional wounds left by disaster.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The logo symbolises how, with our own hands, we choose to take part, to transform through creativity, and to allow farmers\u2019 efforts to reappear in a new form.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In doing so, it helps to ease the powerless feeling of \u201cwanting to do something\u201d inside us.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we share this story with the public, some supporters tell us they were born and raised in Madou and want to support their hometown through purchasing. Companies place large orders to use the paper as thank\u2011you cards in their Mid\u2011Autumn gift sets. When farmers say, \u201cWe never imagined every part of the pomelo could still be useful!\u201d, it feels as if everyone\u2019s heart is being embraced at once.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each sheet of handmade paper is a manifestation of the new life within agricultural by\u2011products. We break the traces of the past and put them together until they appear before us in a wholly new guise.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
